Famous Physicists from Ohio State University

I recently returned from attending the U.S. Conference on Teaching Statistics at Ohio State University in Columbus. I love college campuses and in recent years, I've developed the hobby of taking pictures of ones I visit. My pictures of the Ohio State campus can be seen by clicking here.

Among the buildings I photographed was OSU's Physics Research Building. The edifice not only exhibits some neat modern architecture; the OSU department also has been home to some of the finest physicists in modern history. Two in particular are Kenneth Wilson, who won the 1982 Nobel Prize in physics (while at Cornell ) and has been at OSU since 1988, and the late Robert Mills, famous for a concept known as Yang-Mills physics (which I barely understand).

I plan to blog in the future on the work of Wilson and Mills, as my understanding of it increases. For now, though, take a look at the lovely OSU campus...
